Garden Basements & Extensions with Basements
Create extra space for your home under your garden or new extension.
If a retro-fit basement sounds like too much hassle or perhaps the project isn’t feasible, there’s always the option of a basement in your garden or under an extension.
Garden basements are new substructures, built in the garden of the existing property, in the same way a new build basement, and then covered over to reinstate the garden.
If you are planning an extension for your home but the space you have available or can build on isn’t big enough, another option is creating a basement under the extension. The house would be underpinned, and the other walls & floor built, once the ground floor is on, the extension can be built on top, effectively doubling the size of a single storey extension.
Again these solutions are most suited to properties in conservation areas or in listed buildings where it is not practical to add extra space in the conventional manner, or if planning/space restrictions limit the size of expansion.
Below are some examples of garden & extension basements built by Beautiful Basements.
