The ends of most of the ground floor joists had rotten over time and were becoming dangerous. The ground floor had to be supported from below and joists braced with new timbers to allow the floor above to be supported.
After the ceiling above was supported the floor could be re-laid with new concrete and an emergency escape window to the back garden could be created.
The walls and floor were then lined with a cavity drainage membrane, linked to a sump and pump via perimeter drains.
The basement was then converted by the client to become a games & entertainment space.
